AUKSO – Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy
Bold interpretations, collaboration, exploration, and development
AUKSO, from the Greek αὔξησις (auxesis), meaning growth—is the ensemble's motto. It reflects the aspirations of the musicians who form it and simultaneously sets the direction for their professional path. It speaks to the need for continuous improvement and consistency, taking on challenges, and remaining open-minded. That is why one of Poland's best orchestras, renowned for its masterful interpretations of classical works, eagerly takes on unconventional projects. AUKSO is led by the outstanding conductor and charismatic artist Marek Moś, and its ranks are filled with virtuosos who passionately build a shared, incredibly precise, and striking sound.
AUKSO is particularly interested in the crossover space—combining classical music with jazz, alternative music, and rock, and searching for a common denominator among these genres, or conversely: playing with contrasts and clashing distinct musical languages. AUKSO has collaborated with such prominent musical personalities as Leszek Możdżer, Tomasz Stańko, Urszula Dudziak, Michał Urbaniak, and Motion Trio.
During this year's Break in Classic festival, they will serve as an excellent partner for a diverse range of creators: Marcin Zdunik, Avi Avital, Jakub Józef Orliński, and Aleksander Dębicz.
