Fuse

A genre-defying ensemble from the Netherlands

Fuse is an Amsterdam-based band with a distinct and uncompromising artistic identity. They fluidly navigate between classical music, jazz, chamber music, and improvisation, while continuously searching for new sounds and a fresh musical language. They have a fantastic time on stage, and their infectious energy easily captivates the audience.

The group was born in Amsterdam's underground club scene and built its reputation through highly energetic live performances and bold collaborations, becoming one of the most recognizable and original ensembles in the Netherlands. The artists are widely known to the public from the Podium Klassiek program on Dutch television, where they co-create the show as the resident house band.

Fuse regularly performs in major concert halls and at European festivals. They also collaborate with outstanding composers and soloists, including Aphrodite Patoulidou—the star of the previous edition of the Break in Classic festival. Their performance in Otwock Wielki will mark their debut in Poland.

The band consists of:

  • Emma van der Schalie, Julia Philppens – violin
  • Adrian Breunis – viola
  • Mascha van Nieuwkerk – cello
  • Tobias Nijboer – double bass
  • Daniel van Dalen – drums
